Environmental & Neuro-Immune Autonomic Consulting
MCAS • POTS •CIRS • MCS • ME/CFS
Proud to be the Scientific Bridge Between Environmental Toxicity and Nervous System Recovery
Welcome
People living with MCAS, POTS, MCS, ME/CFS, Long COVID, and related neuro-immune and autonomic conditions often experience symptoms that fluctuate and can be difficult to interpret.

At New Leaf Neuro, we are an environmental and neuro-immune/autonomic consulting firm focused on bridging the gap between environmental exposures and nervous system regulation. While environmental factors can play an important role for some individuals, they are not the only influences that can affect these systems. We work with clients whose symptoms may be shaped by environmental conditions as well as other biological or physiological stressors.

Our role is to help clarify patterns. This may include reviewing environmental reports or exposure findings, identifying potential triggers, and connecting those factors with symptom and flare cycles to better understand what the body may be responding to.
When environmental conditions such as mold, poor indoor air quality, or chemical exposures appear to be contributing to symptoms, the focus is on clarifying those exposures and identifying appropriate steps to address them. If environmental factors have already been addressed but symptoms persist, we shift focus toward supporting stabilization and regulation of the nervous system.

New Leaf Neuro
Does This Sound Familiar?
✓ You’ve seen multiple doctors but still don’t have clear answers
✓ Symptoms shift and don’t follow predictable rules
✓ You react to foods, stress, temperature, or exertion
✓ You feel worse in certain environments, buildings, or water-damaged spaces
✓ You notice symptoms flare in certain rooms, homes, or workplaces
✓ You react strongly to everyday products like cleaning supplies, fragrances, or new materials
✓ You feel stuck managing flares instead of improving
✓ You’ve been told “everything looks normal”
Your symptoms may look the same from day to day, but the underlying drivers may be different.
Understanding the pattern helps take the guesswork out of how to respond.

Common Symptoms

I'm Constantly Chasing Symptoms
I'm constantly chasing symptoms, visiting doctors who never have answers. My symptoms remain unexplained and often unrelated.

Countless Scans & Tests - No Answers
I have had so many scans and blood test that never seem to bring answers or clarity to my issues.

I Have Massive
Brain Fog
My brain fog, memory loss, and mental fatigue make daily tasks so overwhelming.

I Feel Hungover, Like My Body Is Poisoned
I feel hungover and sick, as if poisoned, despite not drinking any alcohol.

I End Up At The Emergency Room Too Often
Countless ER visits, no answers and no relief.
I've Been Diagnosed With (POTS) What Now?
I feel stuck, even slight movement sends my heart racing. Despite increasing salt and following a specialized exercise plan, my symptoms remain or worsen.

I'm Scared—Will This Ever Get Better?
I am getting no relief—will I always have to just manage symptoms?

I Have Developed Anxiety and/or Phobias
I have developed unexplained fears and anxiety I’ve never had before.

Everything Makes My Body React
My body reacts to everything—food, chemicals, EMFs, heat, and more—causing symptoms from anaphylaxis to asthma, hives, palpitations, and GI issues. What’s happening?

It's Not Just Stress
Yes, I have some stress but this is not just stress. I am tried of being prescribed anti-anxiety meds, and then being referred to a psychiatrist.

I Am Always
Exhausted
I am beyond tired, despite rest, with aching muscles and heaviness.

My Body Feels Overstimulated
Loud sounds, bright lights, crying on TV can trigger agitation and overstimulation.
Different Triggers Same Dysregulation
Environmental Triggers
For many individuals living with these conditions, environmental exposures can play an important role in ongoing symptoms.
Common environmental stressors may include water-damaged buildings, mold and microbial byproducts (including mycotoxins), poor indoor air quality, and chemical sensitivities. These exposures can place stress on the immune and nervous systems, contributing to neuro-immune and autonomic dysregulation.
Part of our work involves helping clients review environmental reports, interpret exposure data, and identify potential sources of environmental stressors, bridging the gap between environmental findings and symptom patterns so individuals can better understand what their body may be responding to.
Non-Environmental Triggers
Similar patterns of dysregulation can also develop after infections, injury, surgery, major stress, or other physiological events. While the initial trigger may differ, these pathways often converge on the same regulatory systems, including mast cells, immune signaling, and the autonomic nervous system.
In these situations, the focus shifts toward understanding the body’s regulatory response and supporting stabilization.
Regulating the System After Exposure
When regulatory systems remain on high alert, functions such as heart rate, circulation, digestion, breathing, and sensory tolerance can fluctuate. This is why conditions such as MCAS, POTS, CIRS, MCS, and ME/CFS often overlap.
Our work focuses on helping individuals determine whether environmental triggers remain active, guide steps to reduce or remediate exposures when needed, and support nervous system stabilization once the primary driver has been addressed.
-Helping identify environmental triggers, understand symptom & flare patterns, & support nervous system regulation. Your symptoms aren’t random.

-Your body is not failing.
These symptoms often represent a protective system that has become overly reactive. When you understand the patterns and respond consistently, the system can settle .
Meet the Founders

Liz McGhee
Co-Founder | Environmental & Neuro-Immune Autonomic Consultant
Liz McGhee, RS is an Environmental Health Scientist and Registered Sanitarian with training in cell and molecular biology and communicable and infectious disease. Her work focuses on the relationship between environmental exposures, immune signaling, and autonomic nervous system regulation.
Through New Leaf Neuro, Liz helps individuals interpret environmental factors such as mold, indoor air quality, and chemical exposures alongside symptom patterns seen in conditions including MCAS, CIRS, POTS, MCS, ME/CFS, Long COVID, and other neuro-immune and autonomic conditions.
Her approach emphasizes identifying patterns across environment, physiology, and lived experience to help individuals better understand environmental triggers and move toward greater stability.

Pascal Boudreau
Co-Founder | Principal Building Systems Engineer, P.Eng
Pascal Boudreau, P.Eng. is a licensed Professional Engineer with over 30 years of experience in systems analysis and engineering design, including work in complex infrastructure systems such as power systems and telecommunications.
At New Leaf Neuro, he applies this systems-based perspective to the built environment, focusing on how moisture dynamics, ventilation patterns, and indoor air quality influence environmental safety.
Pascal helps interpret how building conditions may affect symptom patterns for sensitive individuals and leads New Leaf Neuro’s Environmental Building Masterclasses on creating healthier indoor environments.

How Your Symptoms Connect
-
In conditions such as MCAS, POTS, CIRS, MCS, ME/CFS, Long COVID, Lyme disease, and related neuro-immune and autonomic nervous system regulation disorders, symptoms may be influenced by changes in nervous system signaling.
-
When the autonomic nervous system remains in a prolonged “on” or protective state, it can influence immune activity, circulation, digestion, and many other body functions.
